Games of Oct. 13-14, 2017

Offense

QB Ricky Bautista, Sr., Chapman

Bautista threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a score in a 45-26 win vs. Redlands, giving Chapman sole possession of first place in the SCIAC. He completed 21 of 29 passes, going over 70 percent for the third week in a row. It was his fourth consecutive week without throwing an interception.

OL Alex Phan, James Smat, Cole Atteberry, David Alvin-Quinton, TJ Vela, Southwestern

Southwestern racked up a season-high 689 yards of total offense in a 60-31 win at Belhaven. The Pirates rushed for 410 yards, throwing for 279, and were 10 of 13 on third downs while averaging 8.7 yards per play. The SU offense had a rusher run for more than 200 yards, another rusher rush for more than 90, and a third for more than 80.

RB Jerome Washington
Sr., Olivet

In a driving rainstorm, Washington had 30 carries for 265 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-26 win over Albion. None of his 30 carries went for negative yardage. He also ran for a two-point conversion in the win.

RB Brian Mann
So., Ferrum

In Ferrum's 34-20 USA South win vs. LaGrange, Mann set the single game rushing TDs school record with five. He also tied the school record for single game points (30) and his own record for single game rushing yards (254), compiling those yards on 24 carries.

WR Koree Reed
Sr., Hartwick

Reed recorded game-high of nine receptions, 156 receiving yards, and three touchdowns in a 49-27 loss to Hobart. He made a 22-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, a 28-yarder in the second quarter, and added an 8-yard TD reception in the third.

WR Sam Markham
Sr., Central

Markham had a season-high 188 yards on nine catches in a 30-19 win at Coe. It's the third time he has had more than 175 yards receiving in a game this season. He also had two touchdown grabs in the victory.

TE AJ Daniels
Jr., Southwestern

Daniels caught a 42-yard touchdown pass and threw a 32-yard touchdown pass in Southwestern's 60-31 win vs. Belhaven.

Defense

DE Kyle Kilgore
Jr., Bethel

Kilgore aided Bethel's 24-3 victory at Gustavus by recording 12 tackles, including nine of them solo. He had two sacks and five total tackles for loss in the win.

DT Cedrick Fry
Jr., Carthage

Fry had two and a half tackles for loss, including two sacks. He finished with six tackles, five solo as part of a front seven that limited Elmhurst to 5 yards on 29 carries in a 31-8 win.

DT Alec Clark
So., Maine Maritime

Clark racked up 16 tackles, including nine solo stops, in a 34-16 win vs. Coast Guard. Clark added a sack for a loss of 10 yards in the victory.

DE Harry Henschler
Jr., UW-Whitewater

Henschler registered three sacks in one game for the second time this season and finished with nine tackles, including four for a loss, in the Warhawks' 21-14 triumph over previously unbeaten UW-La Crosse.

LB CJ Armstrong
Sr., Westminster (Pa.)

Armstrong had a season-best 10 tackles, including three and a half tackles for a loss (including a sack), in Westminster's 49-27 win over Grove City. He also blocked an extra point late in the third quarter which would have brought the Wolverines within one point.

LB Kyle Schultz
Sr., Monmouth

Schultz had 10 tackles and two interceptions for the Scots in a 59-14 win vs. Illinois College. His first interception, midway through the opening quarter, came two plays after Monmouth had coughed up the ball and kept IC out of the red zone. His second came in Monmouth territory as well on the first play after a short punt.

LB Kyle Treber
Fr., Hanover

Treber finished with 20 tackles for the second time this season, nine of them solo in a 31-28 win vs. Bluffton. The Beavers had a first down near midfield on their final drive but Treber recorded a sack and forced a fumble to end the threat.

CB Michael Joseph
Sr., Dubuque

Joseph intercepted three passes with return of 30 yards and finished with six tackles, five of them solo, in a 42-27 win vs. Nebraska Wesleyan. He also had three pass breakups.

S Patrick Johnson
Sr., Wooster

Johnson logged his second consecutive double-digit tackle game since shifting from corner to safety, figuring in on 11 tackles (eight solo). Johnson forced a fumble in the second half that led to a Wooster field goal in a 38-28 win vs. Oberlin.

S Diante Moses
Jr., Lakeland

Moses lacks size (listed at 5-6, 155) but not effectiveness as he dominated a 57-21 win vs. Benedictine with nine tackles (eight solo), an interception, two tackles for loss including one sack, a forced fumble plus two quarterback hurries. He also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.

CB Jonathan Marrero
Sr., Bridgewater State

Marrero forced all three turnovers in the Bears' 24-22 win at Mass-Dartmouth. He notched two interceptions and forced and recovered a fumble, while also breaking up a pass and recording a pair of solo tackles. The Bears scored ten points off Marrero's three forced turnovers.

Special teams

K Jon Alberts, So.
Central

Alberts was 3-for-3 on field goals of 40, 38 and 20 yards. He added in 3-for-3 on PATs in a 30-19 win at Coe. The career-long 40-yard attempt came as time expired on the first half giving Central a 23-12 lead.

P Erik Swayne, Sr.
Merchant Marine

Swayne averaged 43.8 yards on 10 punts, with a long of 53 yards in a 35-13 loss to No. 25 Springfield. He planted three punts inside the Pride's 20-yard line, including two inside the 10.

RET Rory Hubbard, Jr.
Carnegie Mellon

Hubbard recorded 144 kickoff return yards including a 92-yard return for a touchdown in the Tartans' win over Geneva. It was the Tartans' first kickoff return for a score since the 2015 season.

ST Kyle Hogan, So.
Ohio Wesleyan

Hogan blocked two Wabash field goal attempts -- one of them on the final play of the game -- to preserve a 16-13 win for Ohio Wesleyan at the No. 20 Little Giants.
