Lake Forest College football player Nick Jako was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday.

Jako, a senior defensive back, broke through the left side of the line and blocked a punt early in the second quarter of Saturday's 42-0 victory over Knox College. It was 4th-and-4 at the Prairie Fire 37 and the loose ball was picked up by fellow senior Dominic Lewis and returned 21 yards for a touchdown to make the score 21-0. Jako also added a tackle to his stat line later in the half.

It was the Foresters' first blocked punt of 2024 and their 14th in the last four seasons.
