BW Football Beats Heidelberg to Close Out Regular Season

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team closed out the regular season portion of its 2024 season as it defeated Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 14-10 inside Hoernemann Stadium.

BW (7-3, 6-3 OAC) improved to 52-24 in the all-time series with Heidelberg (5-5, 4-5 OAC).

Offensively for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) completed 19-of-30 passes for 174 yards with two touchdowns.  Sophomore running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) rushed for 76 yards on 22 carries.  Senior wide receiver Mikel Love (Fort Pierce, Fla./Westwood) caught four passes for 46 yards with a touchdown. Defensively, sophomore linebacker Nolan Hartsel (Lodi/Northwester) recorded a game-high tying seven tackles.

Offensively for the Student Princes, junior quarterback ty Poorman complete 14-of-27 passes for 180 yards with one touchdown.   Sophomore running back Drew Miller rushed for 51 yards on 18 carries.  Senior Academic All-OAC wide receiver Matthew Drdul caught seven passes for 65 yards with one touchdown. Defensively, Trey Farris tallied a game-best tying seven tackles.
