• Casey Shine Named Head Coach of Chapman University Football

    Chapman University has officially named Casey Shine as the permanent Head Coach of the Panther football program after a historic 2025 season that culminated in a SCIAC championship, and a landmark NCAA Division III playoff run. Shine stepped into the interim role in July 2025 following the retirement of longtime head coach Bob Owens, who concluded an 18-season tenure with 106 career victories and helped build Chapman into a conference powerhouse.

They had never won a playoff game but took down No. 20 Linfield in 68-65 in triple overtime to advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
